Lancashire’s young business people are celebrating after being named as finalists in the Young ‘Uns Awards 2016.
Successful candidates were announced after a day of rigorous judging whittling down each category to just four finalists for each award.
Each finalist has now been invited to meet an expert panel to share their story followed by Q&A on the official judging day on Thursday 22 September at the Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel.
The winners will be announced at a sparkling ceremony which takes place on Thursday 20 October at the Spanish Ballroom, Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
From legal eagles to digital dynamos and red-hot retailers, there are 11 categories up for grabs plus a prize for ‘The Young ‘Un of 2016’ award which will go to the most impressive entry overall.
The awards, organised by Lancashire Business View magazine, will celebrate the young entrepreneurial, professional and business talent in Lancashire – the next generation of Lancashire leaders.
Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View, said: “Young ‘Uns started life as a feature in the magazine and we had so many fantastic stories that it became obvious we needed to honour them properly
“The response we’ve had to the Young ‘Uns Awards 2016 has been terrific and it’s great to see business owners and young employees alike submitting their entries.
“It’s also great to see businesses getting involved by nominating their staff members and supporting the next generation of Lancashire leaders who are vital to the county’s future success.
“Our judges have a difficult job on their hands. We look forward to meeting the finalists on judging day and announcing the winners on the big night itself.”
Sponsors of the awards are BAE Systems, Begbies Traynor, Federation of Small Businesses, Macdonald Tickled Trout, Peter Scott Printers, Preston Guild Hall UCLan Burnley and Winter Gardens Blackpool. The event is also supported by Sunshine Events and media partner Square Cactus.
